Graduate Student, Clinical Program Alex's research integrates affective neuroscience and digital phenotyping methods using computational approaches such as machine learning to more comprehensively understand the mechanisms of emotion regulation difficulties in patients with schizophrenia and youth at high risk for psychosis. He is a recipient of the Presidential Graduate Fellow Award at the University of Georgia. Alex graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with degrees in Computer Science and Psychology in 2024. Upon graduation, he worked at Harvard Medical School on machine learning and digital phenotyping projects in adult psychiatry, and later joined the National Institute of Mental Health to investigate adolescent depression using precision neuroscience methods.
