Dr. Drew Abney and collaborators piloting new fNIRS hyper-scanning system with funding from OIBR Seed Grant!

Abney Lab RAs

Undergraduate researchers in Dr. Drew Abney’s Developmental Dynamics lab pilot a new study using the lab’s new fNIRS hyper-scanning system. The system will be used to collect moment-to-moment neural dynamics of two individuals (two adults, an infant and their caregiver, etc.) simultaneously during naturalistic interactions. This upcoming Fall semester, Dr. Abney and collaborators, Dr. Cindy Suveg (Psychology) and Dr. Geoffrey Brown (Human Development and Family Science) will use this data collection technique to study children's emotion regulation and stress responses during social interactions (funded by an Owens Institute for Behavioral Research Seed Grant Award). Great work, all!
