UGA Psychology Clinic and The EMPOWER Lab Develop Racial Trauma Guide

Friday, June 19, 2020 - 5:04pm

With emancipation must come education.

The University of Georgia Psychology Clinic and The EMPOWER Lab have developed a Racial Trauma Guide that is free and available to the public. This initiative is aimed at providing education about racial stressors and symptoms of racial trauma, tips for coping with racial trauma, suggestions for being a better ally, ways to discuss race in white families, and resources for coping.

Led by the Racism Pandemic Task Force (Violeta Rodriguez, Dominique La Barrie, Miriam Zegarac, Lisa Bartolomeo, Tosin Adesogan, and Kharine Jean), with substantial support from Dr. Isha Metzger, Latisha Swygert, and Briana Spivey at the EMPOWER Lab.
