The Psychology Clinic has been awarded a grant from the UGA Parents Leadership Council to off-set the cost of providing psychotherapy to low income UGA undergraduate students. The grant will also fund an assistantship for a graduate student therapist who will specialize in providing therapy to UGA undergraduate students. The funds will allow the Psychology Clinic to better serve students, especially low-income students, and reduce wait-times for all individuals seeking therapy services. Congratulations to Violeta Rodriguez, a first-year graduate student in the clinical psychology program and FRESH lab, who has been selected as a fellow of the Yale Ciencia Academy for Career Development. The Yale Ciencia Academy (YCA) for Career Development provides graduate students with opportunities for mentoring, networking, and skills development, and for making contributions to their communities through science outreach. The program is led by the non-profit organization Ciencia Puerto Rico (CienciaPR), in collaboration with Yale University. Great work, Violeta!

The UGA Psychology Deparment would like to recognize and congratulate Dr. Ronald Blount, who was recently awarded the Michael C. Roberts Award for Outstanding Mentoring in Pediatric Psychology by the Society of Pediatric Psychology (SPP). This award honors faculty in pediatric psychology who mentor students in an exemplary way, providing professional advice and guidance through various training phases. In 2017 the award was renamed the Michael C.
