Jim Exley

Jim completed his undergraduate training at the University of Georgia in 1995 with a degree in Risk Management and Insurance through the UGA’s Terry College of Business. After 25 years in the financial services industry, Jim returned to the University of Georgia to study under Dr. Keith Campbell in the Psychology department. He earned a Master of Science in 2020 where he studied wealth and personality. His masters thesis titled Personality and Wealth: An Exploration of Big Five and Financial Outcomes is in prep to be submitted for publication. 

His research centers around personality traits, experiences and narratives that can serve as a guide to improved individual financial outcomes. Specifically, he uses his knowledge of the financial services industry and individual behavior to build and test behavioral financial models that can be applied to improve real life outcomes for individuals of all economic levels.
