Ivan Ruiz

Graduate Student

Ivan is a 3rd year Clinical Ph.D. student. He graduated from UCSD with a major in Psychology. As an undergraduate student, he volunteered in the Perception and Cognition Lab UCSD under the supervision of Dr. John Serences and helped in studies examining visual attention in healthy individuals. Prior to start graduate school, he spent some years working in the VA San Diego as a paid research assistant conducting in clinical trials, including the combined therapeutic effects of oxytocin and psychosocial intervention (i.e., cognitive behavioral social skills training) in individuals with schizophrenia. His research interest is in understanding different factors contributing to the generalized neurocognitive deficit in schizophrenia.
