Training Opportunities


Graduate Training

The Experimental and Clinical Psychopharmacology Laboratory is a training laboratory for graduate students pursuing a PhD in psychology under the mentorship of Dr. MacKillop. Students will have the opportunity to train in a number of different areas and will complete individual independent research projects toward the conferral of the doctoral degree. The laboratory is currently accepting new graduate students. Appropriate candidates will have an excellent academic background and a strong interest in research on alcoholism, drug addiction, and other forms of addictive behavior.


Undergraduate Training

Research Assistantships

The Experimental and Clinical Psychopharmacology Laboratory is a training laboratory for UGA undergraduates who are interested in gaining experience in research on addictive behavior. To do so, students must enroll in Psychology 4800, with Dr. MacKillop's permission. Individuals who are interested in doing so should contact Dr. MacKillop via email.

Honors Thesis Research

Undergraduates who are interested in undertaking honors theses should contact Dr. MacKillop via email. Students will typically be expected to have an excellent academic background (meeting all honors thesis requirements) and will have already completed at least one semester as a Research Assistant within the laboratory.
